Good evening everyone,
As this month comes to a close, the music program will begin to gear up for the second half of its Fall performance season. It will be a busy few weeks for the students as they prepare for their marching events. So, let's get going!
Here are your announcements:
In volunteer news, many thanks to those individuals who helped at the football game last Friday night. The success of our program is largely dependent on volunteerism. We can't do it without you all!
Our varsity team won the game, which makes undefeated for the season. We will advance to the playoffs, and the band will be there! The football playoff schedule, coupled with our scheduled marching events, will make for a very busy November for the music program. Please be prepared to support your students in all ways possible through this busy, exciting time.
Continuing with volunteer news, our bingo manager is ready to speak with you about helping at our Sunday bingo sessions. Bingo proceeds are the primary source of funds for the music program. Without them, the program would not be able to offer the extensive educational opportunities currently available to the students. Please get involved! It takes no special skill to volunteer at bingo. It only takes a few hours of your time. Please reach out to our bingo manager or our volunteer coordinators for information and details. You may examine the Sign-up Genius for available times to volunteer. Thank you so much!
For information on fundraising events for the music program, please visit our website. Among the events currently being planned: our 2nd Tiger Bazaar, our pancake breakfast and craft fair, paint night, and poker night. We would love to see you all at these events!
Please mark your calendar with these important dates:
*Saturday, November 3rd is our semi-final march (Lodi). PLEASE, IF AT ALL POSSIBLE, DO NOT SCHEDULE YOUR STUDENT'S SAT ON THIS DAY, AS OUR LODI PERFORMANCE IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.

MARCHING BAND WILL PRACTICE ON MONDAYS AND THURSDAYS FROM 4:30 P.M. TO 6:30 P.M. REGULARLY THROUGHOUT MARCHING SEASON.
Please regularly check Inderkum's master calendar for dates, events, etc. to avoid scheduling conflicts with your students. Please check in with your students and assist them in all ways possible to stay organized.
As we prepare for a busy four weeks ahead, here are some reminders: The students need to be encouraged to stay healthy, which means adequate sleep, good food choices (ESPECIALLY BEFORE MARCHING EVENTS - the students must eat and stay hydrated), and familial support in all ways possible. If your students are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and tired, please encourage them to reach out and ask for help. Teachers, administrators, counselors, and all of us here on the executive board, for example, are here to support our music family. Let us know how we can help.
As we approach this Thanksgiving season, allow me to extend my thanks to all of you for everything you do, for the students, for the music program, and for Inderkum. You are appreciated!
Have a wonderful week!
Ms. Chris Dahilig (duh-HILL-ig)
